Approximately 121 different bird species have been observed in and around the Preserve since 2004. A small number of these have been vagrants, possible range extensions, blown off course during storm events, or just local migrants moving between upper and lower elevations. If you enjoy birding then this is the place to be at any time of the year! If you need a "Life Bird" then the Preserve may help you get that "one" still left blank on your list. Either way, the sights and sounds of the Preserve, especially Spring through Fall are quite spectacular. If photography is a passion of yours we have found we can get quite close to most species. We can also set up our blind and you can go undetected amongst all of the roosting, nesting, feeding, fledging, chirping, chattering, hooting, calling, and singing birds!
